Connecting an Epson projector to your phone opens up wireless presentations, movie streaming, and screen sharing in minutes. Epson supports multiple connection paths for both Android and iPhone — from the dedicated iProjection app to a simple HDMI adapter. Here is how to do it.
What You Need
- Epson projector with HDMI or wireless capability
- Android phone or iPhone
- For wired: USB-C to HDMI adapter (Android) or Lightning/USB-C to HDMI adapter (iPhone)
- For wireless: Epson iProjection app (free on Google Play and App Store)
- Wi-Fi network (for app-based connection) or Miracast-capable Android phone
Method 1: Epson iProjection App (Android & iPhone)
The Epson iProjection app is the easiest wireless method and works on both platforms.
- Download the Epson iProjection app from Google Play or the App Store.
- On the projector, go to Menu > Network > Network Configuration > Basic and enable the wireless LAN.
- Note the SSID and password shown on the projector’s network screen.
- Connect your phone to that Wi-Fi network.
- Open iProjection, tap Search Automatically, and select your projector from the list.
- Enter the displayed connection code when prompted.
- Your phone screen will now mirror to the projector. You can also project photos, documents, and web pages directly from within the app.
Method 2: HDMI Adapter (Wired — Best Quality)
- Connect a USB-C to HDMI adapter to your Android phone, or a Lightning/USB-C to HDMI adapter to your iPhone.
- Plug the HDMI cable from the adapter into the projector’s HDMI input.
- On the Epson remote, press Source Search or HDMI to select the correct input.
- Your phone display will mirror to the projector automatically. On iPhone, you may need to confirm the connection.
Method 3: Miracast (Android only)
- On the Epson projector, go to Menu > Network > Wireless LAN and enable Miracast or Screen Mirroring mode.
- On your Android phone, swipe down and tap Smart View, Cast, or Screen Mirror (name varies by manufacturer).
- Select your Epson projector from the list of available devices.
- Wait a few seconds for the connection — your Android screen will appear on the projector.
Method 4: Streaming Dongle (iPhone & Android)
If your Epson projector lacks built-in wireless, plug a Chromecast or Apple TV into the HDMI port. Then cast from your phone to the streaming device. This is especially useful for iPhone users who want AirPlay support via Apple TV.
Common Problems and Fixes
| Problem | Fix |
