How to Use a Panasonic Washing Machine: Operating Guide

Panasonic washing machines are known for their reliable wash systems and features like StainMaster and Active Foam that help lift tough dirt. Getting the best out of one means picking the right programme, spin and temperature for each load. This guide explains how to use a Panasonic washing machine from first switch-on to your cleanest wash, for both front-load and top-load models.

First-Time Setup

Place the machine on a level, solid floor. On front-loaders, remove the transit bolts at the back before the first wash to avoid heavy vibration. Connect the inlet hose to the tap, fit the drain hose securely, and use an earthed power point. Run one empty hot cycle to rinse out the new drum before washing clothes.

Selecting a Wash Programme

Use the dial or programme buttons to choose the cycle for your laundry:

  • Cotton — everyday wear, bedsheets and towels.
  • Quick Wash — a short cycle for lightly soiled clothes.
  • StainMaster — for treating stubborn stains on Panasonic models that offer it.
  • Synthetics — shirts and mixed fabrics.
  • Delicate / Woollens — gentle, low-spin washing for fragile items.
  • Soak / Pre-Wash — useful for heavily soiled loads.

Spin Speed and Temperature

Set a higher spin (1000–1200 rpm) for cottons so they dry faster, and a lower spin for delicates to reduce creasing. For temperature, 30°C handles everyday loads, 40°C tackles normal soil, and 60°C suits whites, towels and heavily soiled items. Always read the care label first.

Loading and Detergent Tips

  • Leave space at the top of the drum so clothes can tumble — do not overload.
  • Measure detergent into the marked drawer compartment; excess foam reduces wash quality.
  • Put fabric softener in its own compartment.
  • Close the door or lid until it clicks before pressing Start.

Getting the Best Wash

Leave the door ajar between washes and wipe the seal dry to keep mould away. Clean the detergent drawer and pump filter monthly.
