Kent RO Error Codes and Indicator Lights Explained
Kent RO water purifiers display error codes and indicator lights to alert you when something needs attention. Most of these can be resolved at home without calling a technician. This guide covers every common Kent RO error code, what it means, and the fix to try first.
Kent RO Error Code Reference Table
| Code / Indicator | Meaning | Fix to Try at Home |
|---|---|---|
| F0 | Filter change alert — pre/sediment or carbon filter life expired | Replace the pre-filters (sediment and carbon). Reset the filter life counter after replacement. |
| F1 | RO membrane alert — membrane life nearing end | Replace the RO membrane. Have a Kent service technician reset the membrane life counter. |
| F2 | UV lamp alert — UV lamp has reached end of rated life | Replace the UV lamp. Even if the lamp appears to glow, UV output degrades over time — replacement is necessary. |
| Red light flashing | Tank full, or float valve stuck in closed position | Use water from the tap to lower the tank level. If the light stays on, clean or replace the float valve inside the tank. |
| Beeping + not purifying | Inlet water pressure too low for the RO pump | Check that the inlet tap is fully open. If municipal supply pressure is low, wait for pressure to restore or have a booster pump fitted. |
| ERR-01 | No water supply detected at inlet | Check that the inlet valve is open and the supply is running. Check for a kinked or blocked inlet pipe. |
| ERR-02 | TDS of source water is too high for the current membrane | Check source water TDS with a TDS meter. If consistently above 2000 ppm, the RO membrane may be damaged — call service. |
Understanding the Indicator Lights
All Kent RO models use a colour-coded LED indicator panel. Here is what each colour means:
- Green light (steady): System is operating normally. Water is being purified and dispensed safely.
- Red light (steady or flashing): A fault condition exists. Check the display for an error code. Do not consume water until the fault is resolved.
- Orange / Yellow light: Service is due. This is a reminder alert — the purifier still works, but maintenance (filter change or servicing) should be scheduled soon.
When to Call Kent Service
Try the home fixes above first. Call Kent customer service (1800-102-5368) or book a service visit if:
- The error code persists after you have replaced filters or the UV lamp.
- You see ERR-02 consistently with normal source water TDS.
- The purifier makes unusual noises or leaks water.
- There is no power to the unit despite a working socket.
- The TDS of purified water is not dropping significantly from source TDS.
If your Kent purifier is old and requiring frequent repairs, it may be more economical to upgrade. You can sell your old Kent purifier to offset the cost of a new one.
How to Prevent Error Codes
Most Kent RO error codes are preventable with regular maintenance:
- Change pre-filters every 3–6 months — sediment and carbon filters are the first line of defence and protect the membrane.
- Replace the RO membrane every 2–3 years — or earlier if your source water TDS is high.
- Replace the UV lamp every 12 months — even if it is still glowing.
- Keep the inlet filter clean — rinse it monthly to prevent pressure drop errors.
- Book an annual service — Kent technicians can inspect seals, the pump, and the float valve.
